City Hall will be closed November 11, for Veteran’s Day; November 24 & 25, for Thanksgiving.

Property Taxes are Due December 31, 2011

GTHC Pioneer Day – Join the City on Saturday, November 5th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Gaines Tavern History Center for Pioneer Day. Vendors will be a blacksmithing, soap making, chair caning, alpaca products and more. Food and souvenirs will also be available. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students, and children under 5 are free.

Christmas on Main - The 10th Annual Christmas on Main will be held on Friday, December 2nd, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The parade will begin at 6:00 pm at the Baptist Church, and proceed north to City Hall where Santa will signal the lighting of the City tree. Santa and Ms. Claus will be on hand at City Hall following the parade. Bus, wagon and carriage rides will begin then also. There will be food and drinks available at various locations along Main Street. Be sure to bring your family and join us to begin the Christmas Season.

Decorating Contest – This year the Christmas decorating contest is open to all houses and businesses in the City of Walton November 25th – 30th. Lights must be on at 6:00 pm each evening for judges to go around and score displays. The City will be divided into the North and South Poles, with Bedinger Avenue being the dividing line. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each division.
