2008 Concert on Main Schedule
      
      May 23rd kicks off our Concerts on Main for the summer. Local vocalist, Randy Wallace, will begin the series with a mix of country and gospel. The concerts begin at 7:00 p.m., and last until 9:00 p.m. They are held in the Scheben Pavilion, or the Walton Community Center in case of rain. 
      Bring your family, your friends, blankets, chairs and enjoy!

June 27 - Herald Bluegrass Tradition
July 25 - Florence Community Band
August 22 - Chain Reaction Bluegrass

New Station Site for Walton Fire District
    
The City is working with the Walton Fire District (WFD) to exchange property the city acquired in the Towne Center for the department's property on High School Court.
         The WFD has started building a new Fire Station in the Towne Center. They hope to have the new station built by November, 2008.

Pit Bull Ordinance to be Enforced 

City of Walton Ordinance 2003-03, prohibiting any person from causing, permitting, aiding, encouraging or engaging in the ownership, location, maintenance, keeping, harboring or use in the City of Walton, of dogs known as Staffordshire Bull Terriers or American Staffordshire Terriers, which are also known as Pit Bull Dogs . . .  will be strongly enforced by the Boone County Animal Shelter beginning November 1, 2007.
             Any person who violates any part of this ordinance may, upon conviction, be sentenced to a fine in an amount of no more than $500.

 Rumpke Trash Rates
            City Council voted to accept the bid from Rumpke of Kentucky for trash collection service. The new contract will run for two years effective July 1, 2007. Residential rates ill be $10.35 per month, billed quarterly at $31.05. Tote rental is an additional $3.50 per month.
             Curb side recycling service is available for $4.00 per month. Call 513-851-0122 for more information.
